Brazil Andre Stein has transitioned from a long career in aerospace leadership and co-founding air mobility ventures to CEO of Eviation Aircraft.
Andre Stein, as CEO of Eviation, expressed enthusiasm for partnering with UrbanLink to revolutionize regional air mobility, following an agreement for UrbanLink to purchase up to 20 Alice all-electric commuter aircraft.
As part of his leadership at Eve, a strategic partnership was formed with Thales to conduct joint studies over a twelve-month period on the technical, economical, and operational aspects of developing eVTOL aircraft.
While at Eve Urban Air Mobility, Andre Stein announced a partnership with Ascent aimed at accelerating the development of the Urban Air Mobility ecosystem within the Asia-Pacific region.
Andre Stein possesses a significant background in the aerospace industry, notably within the development of innovative aircraft and air mobility solutions. His career includes a substantial 25-year tenure at Embraer, a leading aerospace conglomerate. During his time at Embraer, Stein advanced to head strategy for EmbraerX, the company’s experimental aircraft arm. This role was instrumental in the establishment of Eve Air Mobility in 2020, an air taxi developer. He then assumed the position of CEO at Eve Air Mobility, where he guided the company through its listing on the US stock exchange in 2022. His leadership focused on shaping the company’s industrialization strategy, cultivating partnerships, and driving sales.
In January 2024, Stein was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Eviation Aircraft, an electric aviation start-up based in the US. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the certification and commercialization efforts for Eviation’s nine-seat, all-electric Alice aircraft. The Alice aircraft successfully completed its inaugural flight in September 2022. Stein’s mandate is to guide the Alice through its next development phases and bring it to market, an initiative for which Eviation has reported provisional orders exceeding $5 billion. His experience from previous roles is being applied to advance Eviation’s goals in electric aviation. He is known for his product development experience, including his work on the Embraer E-Jet E2, a medium-range, twin-engine airliner, from its initial definition through to certification.
Stein’s move to Eviation marks a pivotal moment for the company as it progresses towards commercial service for the Alice aircraft, with a target date later this decade. His leadership is expected to streamline the company’s journey through regulatory hurdles and production ramp-up. The company also appointed Jeff Hurford as Chief Financial Officer around the same time, indicating a strategic strengthening of the leadership team to achieve Eviation’s objectives in the rapidly evolving electric aviation sector.
