Andy Richter is an American actor, comedian, and writer, widely recognized for his long-standing collaboration as Conan O’Brien’s sidekick across multiple late-night television shows. After honing his improvisational skills through various groups in Chicago, most notably at Improv Olympic, where he transitioned from a student to a ‘House Performer’ within a year, Andy Richter further expanded his comedic range with ‘The Comedy Underground’ and the Annoyance Theatre. His career saw a significant turning point when he joined ‘Late Night with Conan O’Brien’ in 1993, initially as a writer, before quickly becoming O’Brien’s renowned sidekick. This pivotal partnership established Richter as a prominent and beloved figure in late-night television, enduring for seven successful years.

On television, he has held recurring roles in critically lauded series such as ‘Arrested Development’ (2005-2006, 2013), lent his voice to animated hits like ‘The Mighty B!’ (2008-2011), and continues his long-standing work as a main voice cast member on ‘American Dad!’ (2006-2023). Demonstrating his versatility, Richter has also ventured into game show hosting, notably for ABC’s ‘Big Fan’ (2017). His competitive spirit shone through when he achieved the highest one-day score in ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ history in 2009, winning an impressive $68,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
