Anne Milgram is a distinguished American attorney and academic who has made significant contributions to law enforcement and criminal justice reform throughout her career. She served as the 11th Administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) from 2021 to 2025, where she led a dedicated team of over 10,000 professionals. Under her leadership, the DEA focused on enhancing community safety and health, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies at all levels.
Prior to her role at the DEA, Milgram was the 57th Attorney General of New Jersey from 2007 to 2010. In this capacity, she oversaw the Department of Law & Public Safety, which included directing the Division of Criminal Justice and managing over 30,000 local law enforcement officers. One of her notable achievements was establishing a partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to improve the tracing of illegal firearms, showcasing her commitment to public safety and intergovernmental cooperation.
