Paul Blackthorne

Paul Blackthorne is an English actor, producer, and director known for his extensive work across film and television, including memorable roles in “Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India” and “Arrow.” After gaining international recognition with his first major film role, Paul Blackthorne starred as Captain Andrew Russell in the 2001 Academy Award-nominated Bollywood film Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. For this demanding role, Blackthorne undertook six months of intensive Hindi language training. His foundational acting career in England had included notable appearances in television commercials, such as the iconic Grim Reaper campaign for Virgin Atlantic, which helped establish his industry presence. Following Lagaan, Blackthorne successfully transitioned his career to American films and television.
