About

Antonia Ramel, born on July 2, 1985, in Bettna, Sweden, has established herself as a notable figure in the equestrian world. Her career in dressage began in the 2000s, with early international competitions involving horses such as Donkahn and Seigneur. She later progressed to the Under 25 Grand Prix level with the horse Insterburg. Ramel’s dedication to the sport is evident in her long-standing commitment and her statement, “Riding and competing is a lifestyle, this is my passion.” This philosophy has guided her through various stages of her career, leading to significant achievements in national and international events.

Ramel’s professional journey includes notable appearances at prestigious events. In 2017, she returned to senior competitions with Brother de Jeu. Her consistent performance led to her selection for the Swedish team at the 2019 European Dressage Championships in Rotterdam, where she secured a team bronze medal. This event was particularly significant as she competed alongside her sister, Juliette Ramel, who had previously represented Sweden at the 2016 Olympic Games. Further enhancing her career profile, Ramel was selected as a reserve for the Swedish dressage team for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She subsequently competed at the Games after a teammate’s horse sustained an injury, finishing 35th in the individual competition and contributing to the team’s 6th place.

Antonia Ramel’s career is marked by steady progression and involvement with various horses, adapting to different partnerships and levels of competition. Training with coach Patrik Kittel is a significant element in her career progression, as she stated that her best choice in life was “To go train with Patrik Kittel.” Her journey reflects sustained effort and a focus on incremental gains within the competitive dressage circuit. She continues to be an active competitor, participating in various CDI events with horses such as Hogan Bcn, Curiosity, and Iejoor, demonstrating a continued presence in high-level dressage.
