Art Briles

Art Briles is a distinguished American football coach currently leading Mount Vernon High School in Texas. His coaching journey began in the high school ranks, where he quickly made a name for himself. At Hamlin High School, he achieved remarkable success, boasting a 27-1-1 record and guiding the team to the state semifinals. His innovative approach to offense, particularly the transition to a spread offense, set a new standard in Texas high school football, earning him recognition and opportunities at larger programs.

Briles transitioned to college football, serving as the running backs coach at Texas Tech University before taking the helm at the University of Houston from 2003 to 2007. Under his leadership, the Cougars experienced a resurgence, culminating in a Conference USA championship in 2006. His ability to develop talent was evident as he produced several NFL players, showcasing his skill in coaching and player development.

His most notable tenure came at Baylor University from 2008 to 2015, where he transformed the program into a national powerhouse.
