United States Mrs. Kasha Davis has transitioned from a call center employee to an internationally recognized drag queen, performer, storyteller, and speaker.
Co-owner of Drag Me To The Stage, an organization that plans events such as drag Bingo. Mrs. Kasha Davis formed this company with friends and her husband to give other queens the opportunity to have 'the RuPaul's Drag Race' experience.
Mrs. Kasha Davis was scheduled to speak at the 'RCR Allyship Lunch & Learn' event, highlighting her role as a speaker and advocate.
Hosted the HalloQween Drag Brunch, featuring other RuPaul's Drag Race stars like Jasmine Masters, Laila McQueen, and Cynthia Lee Fontaine, at the Capital Theatre.
Serves as an artist-in-residence in the Department of Theatre and Music Studies, teaching a class titled 'Teaching the Art of Drag.'
Edward Paul Popil Jr., known professionally as Mrs. Kasha Davis, was born on March 12, 1971, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre from Marywood University and then worked as a principal dancer at the Ballet Theatre of Scranton. Popil began performing as Mrs. Kasha Davis in 2004. He has been based in Rochester, New York, where he frequently performs with long-time collaborators such as Pandora Boxx and Darienne Lake. In 2008, prior to widespread recognition, he starred in and co-wrote the film “Mrs. Kasha Davis: The Life of an International Housewife Celebrity.” For fourteen years, he also co-wrote and performed in “Big Wigs,” a touring diva impersonation theater show with Aggy Dune.
Mrs. Kasha Davis gained significant public recognition through her appearances on reality television. She competed on the seventh season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2015 and later returned for the eighth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” in 2023. These television appearances provided a platform that led to international touring, releasing several musical singles, and performances in film, television, and theater. Her career progression includes performing her one-woman show, “There’s Always Time for a Cocktail,” at venues in New York, San Francisco, Rochester, London, and Brighton. She also holds a supporting role as Vicki Leaks in the 2018 film “Hurricane Bianca 2: From Russia with Hate.” A documentary film by Angela Washko, “Workhorse Queen,” released in 2021, focused on Popil’s life before and after his time on “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
Beyond entertainment, Mrs. Kasha Davis utilizes her platform as a storyteller and speaker. She is an advocate for “Drag Story Hour,” an event where drag queens read books to children in libraries and theaters. She also engages in motivational speaking, including a class at SUNY Brockport titled “Teaching the Art of Drag.” Her work emphasizes the importance of community and mental well-being, including openly discussing her sobriety since July 13, 2015. She operates Drag Me To The Stage, an organization through which she performs with other drag queens, providing opportunities for expanded exposure and collaboration within the drag community.
