Ashley Storrie

Ashley Storrie is a Scottish stand-up comedian, actress, and writer, known for her candid humor and exploration of personal experiences, including neurodiversity, in her work on stage, radio, and television. After making her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 1999 with ‘What Were You Doing When You Were 13?’, Ashley Storrie went on to build a diverse career across stand-up, acting, and writing. Early in her career, she featured in a Ken Loach-directed advertisement for Fairy in 1990 and starred in the short film ‘Wednesday’s Child’ in 1997. Storrie continued her stage work by co-writing and starring in the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Square Street’ alongside her mother, Janey Godley.

Her exceptional work on ‘Dinosaur’ was honored with two BAFTA Scotland awards in 2024: Best Writer – Film/Television (shared with Matilda Curtis) and the Audience Award for Favourite Scot on Screen. Earlier, from 2023 to 2024, Storrie recounted her life story in the BBC Radio 4 comedy show ‘What’s the Story, Ashley Storrie?’, which has since been recommissioned for a second series, highlighting her compelling narrative abilities. The success of ‘Dinosaur’ continues to grow, with the series renewed for a second season following its acclaimed debut. Storrie’s portrayal in ‘Dinosaur’ also earned her a BAFTA Scotland nomination for Best Actress – Television in 2024.
