Perry Mattfeld

Perry Mattfeld began her performing arts career at the age of five, dedicating nine years to ballet training before broadening her skills under Debbie Allen in Los Angeles. Her early theatrical experiences included performing in Ms. Allen’s World Premiere Musical, Alex in Wonderland, and portraying American Girl Dolls Kirsten Larson and Kit Kittredge in over 164 shows at Mattel’s American Girl Theater in Los Angeles. These formative experiences in dance and live theater established her foundation in performance.

Mattfeld transitioned to television and film, securing roles such as “FrankenGirl” in Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place, an episode that garnered over 4.6 million viewers. She continued to develop her acting skills while pursuing higher education, graduating Cum Laude from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and a minor in Film Theory. During her time at USC, she was also recognized as one of The World Famous USC Song Girls. Her career progressed with recurring roles, including Mel in Shameless (2017–2018) for seven episodes.

A significant turning point in Mattfeld’s career came with her lead role as Murphy Mason in The CW crime drama In the Dark (2019–2022), where she portrayed a blind woman, a role for which she also served as a producer for 25 episodes between 2021 and 2022. This role required extensive research, including shadowing a blind person and learning practical skills related to visual impairment, demonstrating her dedication to character authenticity. She has continued to take on varied roles in both film and television, including Lucy in Mending the Line (2022), Eva in The Idea of You (2024), and Ricky Hudson in the upcoming series Chad Powers (2025–present), further solidifying her presence in the entertainment industry.
