Bailey Chase Luetgert was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 15, 1972. Following his parents’ divorce, he relocated to Florida. He attended Duke University on a football scholarship, where he pursued a degree in Psychology. After graduating, Chase moved to Los Angeles to begin his acting career, which included training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His early film experience includes Adam Shankman’s ‘Cosmo’s Tale’ (1998), which premiered at Sundance and Cannes.
Chase’s television career commenced with a role in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. He later appeared alongside Oscar-winning actors in ‘Saving Grace’ and ‘Damages’. His performance in ‘Longmire’ garnered critical acclaim. Since then, Chase has taken on diverse roles in productions such as ‘Batman V Superman’, ‘Chicago PD’, ‘Grimm’, ’24: Legacy’, ‘Twin Peaks’, and ‘Queen of the South’. He currently resides in North Carolina with his wife and three children. His work history demonstrates consistent engagement across various genres and platforms.
His recent work includes a nomination for Best Lead Actor for his performance in ‘Far Haven’ (2023), and he is actively involved in upcoming projects, such as ‘Homestead’ (2024–2025).
