Banachek is a world-renowned mentalist, magician, and thought reader known for his captivating live performances and significant contributions to debunking paranormal claims. After demonstrating exceptional expertise in mentalism, Banachek played a pivotal role in James Randi’s Project Alpha from 1979 to 1982. Alongside Michael Edwards, he successfully convinced parapsychology researchers at Washington University in St. Louis that their mentalist tricks were genuine psychic abilities.

His acclaimed contributions earned him multiple Psychic Entertainers Association accolades, including the Dave Lederman Memorial Award (1997), Dan Blackwood Memorial Award (2006), and the prestigious Dunninger Memorial Award (2007). An accomplished author, Banachek penned ‘Dunninger’s Brain Busters’ (2001), ‘Psychophysiological Thought Reading’ (2002), and expanded his influential ‘Psychological Subtleties’ series with ‘Psychological Subtleties 2’ (2007), also releasing ‘Banachek’s Psi Series’ in 2004.
