Bart Lambriex was born on October 3, 1998, in Haarlem, Netherlands. He began his sailing career early, competing in Optimist dinghies. This early engagement in the sport laid the foundation for his future successes in competitive sailing. By 2011, he earned a silver medal in the Optimist World Championship, marking one of his first significant international achievements and indicating his emerging talent in the sport. His dedication to sailing continued to develop, leading him to compete at increasingly higher levels.
Lambriex progressed to the 49er class, a demanding skiff event that requires skill and teamwork. In 2019, he and his partner, Pim van Vugt, secured an 8th-place finish at the 49er & 49er FX World Championships in Auckland. This result was notable as it qualified a spot for the Netherlands in the 2020 Summer Olympics. He further met national qualification standards by achieving a 6th place at the 2020 49er & 49er FX & Nacra17 European Championships. His Olympic debut came at the Tokyo 2020 Games, where he competed in the 49er Men’s event, finishing in 6th place, showcasing his ability to perform at the highest level of international competition.
Following his Olympic participation, Bart Lambriex formed a partnership with Floris van de Werken.
