Ben Adams is a singer, songwriter, and producer, recognized for his work with the boyband A1 and successful solo career, and has represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest. After joining the four-piece boyband A1 in 1998, Ben Adams went on to achieve significant chart success, including winning a Brit Award for Best Newcomer in 2001. The band secured two number one singles on the UK singles chart with ‘Take On Me’ and ‘Same Old Brand New You.’ In recognition of his individual appeal, Adams also received a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party Award for Most Fanciable Male in 2001, prior to the bands initial separation in 2002. Adams quickly launched a solo career, signing a recording contract with BMG Records.
Expanding his creative repertoire, Adams co-wrote the musical ‘Eugenius!’, which premiered at the London Palladium in 2016, followed by critically acclaimed fully staged runs at The Other Palace in 2018. In 2017, Adams took on a leading role as Nick Hurley in the touring production of Flashdance the Musical, the same year he released several singles intended for his second solo album, ‘1981.’ A1 celebrated its 20th anniversary with an international tour in 2018. In 2019, Adams collaborated with Filipina singer Morissette on the Christmas duet ‘This Is Christmas.’ Most recently, Adams represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as part of the pop band Subwoolfer, alongside Gaute Ormåsen. Their distinctive song, ‘Give That Wolf a Banana,’ placed a notable 10th in the grand final, earning 182 points.
