United Kingdom Ben Adams is a singer, songwriter, and producer, recognized for his work with the boyband A1 and successful solo career, and has represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Ben Adams is known as the lead singer of the British-Norwegian boy band A1. The group consists of Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen, and Paul Marazzi.
A1 re-signed with Universal Music Group and recorded another two studio albums "Waiting For Daylight" and "Rediscovered", which Adams co-wrote and produced.
In 2019, Adams released a duet with Morissette, "This Is Christmas". Singer Morissette has teamed up with Ben Adams of the British boy band A1 for a Christmas single, marking her latest international collaboration.
Adams represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 along with Gaute Ormåsen as a part of pop band Subwoolfer. Together they performed the song "Give That Wolf a Banana", which placed 10th in the grand final with 182 points.
In October 2017 Adams took a leading role in the touring version of Flashdance the Musical, starring as Nick Hurley alongside Joanne Clifton.
Adams co-wrote with Chris Wilkins a new original musical called Eugenius! which premiered as a concert performance on 29 July 2016 at the London Palladium, which was produced by Warwick Davis (who also starred in the concert).

Benjamin Edward Stephen Adams was born on November 22, 1981, in Ascot, England. His early education included attending Westminster Under School, where he served as head chorister, and later Bedales School, leaving at age 16 after completing his GCSEs to join Charterhouse School. Adams became a member of the four-piece boyband A1 in 1998. The band achieved notable success, winning a Brit Award for Best Newcomer in 2001 and securing two number one singles on the UK singles chart: “Take On Me” and “Same Old Brand New You.” In 2001, Adams also received a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party Award for Most Fanciable Male. The band initially separated in 2002.
Adams embarked on a solo career, signing a recording contract with BMG Records. His first solo single, “Sorry,” reached number 18 on the UK singles chart in June 2005. Concurrently, Adams developed his skills as a songwriter and producer, contributing to projects for artists such as Robin Thicke, Craig David, JLS, and Alexandra Burke. He co-wrote the Lisa Scott-Lee single “Electric” with Guy Chambers and established his own recording studio in London, Archer Studios. In 2009, Adams participated in the sixth series of Celebrity Big Brother, finishing in fifth place. The same year, A1 reformed to compete in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest to represent Norway. They subsequently re-signed with Universal Music Group, releasing two more studio albums, “Waiting For Daylight” and “Rediscovered,” both of which Adams co-wrote and produced. In 2013, A1 was featured on The Big Reunion, and in 2018, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary with an international tour.
Throughout the 2010s, Adams continued his diverse career. He took part in Skal vi danse?, the Norwegian version of Strictly Come Dancing, in 2012, placing second. In 2017, he released several singles intended for his second album, “1981,” and took on a leading role as Nick Hurley in the touring production of Flashdance the Musical. He co-wrote the musical Eugenius!, which premiered at the London Palladium in 2016 and had fully staged runs at The Other Palace in 2018. In 2019, Adams collaborated with Filipina singer Morissette on the Christmas duet “This Is Christmas.” His musical endeavors extended to representing Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as part of the pop band Subwoolfer, alongside Gaute Ormåsen. Their song, “Give That Wolf a Banana,” placed 10th in the grand final with 182 points.
