Blaze Riorden established himself as a dominant force in collegiate lacrosse, setting the University at Albany’s career saves record with 849 during his senior year in 2016. A Tewaaraton Award finalist that year, he earned Third-team All-American and America East Defensive Player of the Year accolades. During his freshman season in 2013, Riorden started 18 games, achieving 13 winsthe second-highest in program history at the timeand was recognized with a spot on the America East All-Rookie Team and named second-team all-league. Throughout his collegiate career, he consistently led the America East in save percentage, saves per game, and goals against average, earning first-team all-conference honors multiple times.
He also played a key role in the United States’ victory at the World Lacrosse Championship in 2023 and contributed to their runner-up finish at the World Lacrosse Box Championships in 2024. His sustained elite performance is further highlighted by multiple All-Pro selections, including 1st Team All-Pro honors in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024, alongside a 2nd Team All-Pro nod in 2022. Riorden’s impact and recognized leadership continue into 2025, solidifying his reputation as one of the most consistent and highly-regarded players in professional lacrosse. He was also named to the All-World Team in 2023.
