Jasmine Thomas

Jasmine Thomas, an MVP of the 2007 McDonald’s All-America game and a USA Basketball U19 World Championship gold medalist in the same year, built an exceptional collegiate and professional basketball career. During her time at Oakton High School, Thomas led her team to an impressive 101-11 record, earning recognition as a 2007 EA Sports, USA Today, Street & Smith’s, and Parade first-team All-American. She was also named Gatorade State Player of the Year, AP State Player of the Year, and D.C. All-Met Player of the Year as a senior, accumulating career totals of 2,598 points, 910 rebounds, 519 steals, and 504 assists.

At Duke University, Thomas started 120 of 137 games, becoming one of only four Blue Devils to achieve over 1,300 points, 400 rebounds, 400 assists, 200 steals, and 50 blocks. She was a two-time Academic All-American and a two-time ACC Tournament MVP in both 2010 and 2011. Following her stellar collegiate career, Thomas was selected 12th overall in the first round of the 2011 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, subsequently being traded to the Washington Mystics. Her professional journey included a WNBA Finals appearance with the Atlanta Dream in 2013.

Throughout her impactful career, she has also been deeply involved in community initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to social good by receiving the August WNBA Cares Community Assist Award in 2019 and the June WNBA Cares Community Assist Award in 2021, underscoring her dedication to giving back.
