Brennan Clost

Brennan Clost was born on October 20, 1994, in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. From a young age, he developed an interest in dance, leading him to train at various studios across Southern Ontario, including the National Ballet School of Canada and Springboard Danse Montreal. His talent earned him a scholarship to The Juilliard School in New York City, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2016. He was one of only two male Canadian dancers accepted into the program in 2012. During his time at Juilliard, Clost’s choreography was showcased annually in the school’s Choreographic Honours Program and in elementary schools throughout New York City. His early career also included significant achievements in competitive dance, such as becoming a world silver medalist in the International Dance Organization junior soloist category in Germany in 2008 and being named one of the Top Senior Male Dancers at The Dance Awards in New York City in 2011.

Clost’s acting career began in 2012 with a professional debut in a television advertisement for Gillette. In the same year, he joined the cast of the Family Channel series “The Next Step” as Daniel, a role he maintained as a lead character for the first five seasons, airing internationally. He took a two-year hiatus from the show to complete his studies at Juilliard, returning in 2017. Following this, he expanded his episodic television work and starred in the web series “Spiral” in 2017 alongside his former “The Next Step” co-star Alexandra Beaton. In 2019, Clost was cast in the Netflix dance drama series “Tiny Pretty Things,” where he played Shane for 10 episodes in 2020. His acting career has continued with roles in “Pretty Hard Cases” (2022–2023), “Heartland” (2024), and upcoming projects like “Fear Street: Prom Queen” (2025) and “Loathe Thy Neighbor” (2025).

Beyond acting, Clost has also ventured into production, serving as an executive producer and producer for the 2025 film “Loathe Thy Neighbor,” where he also holds a lead acting role. He is recognized for his contributions to film and television and maintains an active presence as a content creator. Clost’s career trajectory showcases a dedication to performance, evolving from a highly competitive dancer to an established actor and a burgeoning producer.
