Molly Kate Kestner

Molly Kate Kestner was born on November 29, 1995, in Freeborn County, Minnesota. She is one of seven siblings and began performing covers and original material on YouTube for her family. Kestner is proficient in vocals, piano, and violin, and was a member of the 2012–2013 Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Mixed Choir. Her early musical efforts laid the groundwork for her later professional career.

Kestner gained widespread attention in 2014 with her song “His Daughter,” which became a viral sensation, accumulating over 1.5 million views in under two weeks. This led to notable recognition from public figures such as George Takei and Jordin Sparks, and an appearance on “Good Morning America.” Following this success, she signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records, releasing seven major label singles since joining their roster. Her song “Prom Queen” has achieved over 100 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music.

Kestner has continued to advance her career by collaborating with producers and songwriters, including Ryan Tedder, Michael Pollack, and Emily Warren. Her songwriting credits include “Move You” and “Slow Dance” for Kelly Clarkson, “Thousand Faces” for Andy Grammar, “Bed of Roses” for Pitbull and Afrojack, and “You Will Be Saved” for Elevation Rhythm. She has also collaborated with Honors on the songs “Compromise” and “On Again.” Kestner married singer-songwriter Brock Baker in 2016.
