Brett Claywell was born on April 11, 1978, in North Carolina, USA. His acting journey started at a young age in children’s theater in Greensboro, North Carolina. He continued his theatrical pursuits throughout college, studying theater at North Carolina State University, where he also earned a degree in Architecture. Following his graduation, Claywell moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, to focus on his acting career. His early television appearances included brief roles on The WB’s “Dawson’s Creek” from 2002 to 2003 as a Dancer and Set P.A. This was followed by a significant role in the pilot of The CW’s “One Tree Hill,” where he portrayed Tim Smith for three seasons across 33 episodes, spanning from 2003 to 2008.

Claywell gained national recognition for his portrayal of Kyle Lewis on ABC’s long-running daytime series “One Life to Live,” appearing in 98 episodes from 2009 to 2010. His work on the show earned him critical acclaim and a GLAAD award. He also appeared in “Dollhouse” in 2009, featuring in 3 episodes as Matt Cargill. His film credits include “20 Funerals” (2004), “Stateside” (2004), “The Last Confederate: The Story of Robert Adams” (2005), “Senior Skip Day” (2008), “Babysitter Wanted” (2007), and “The Final Season” (2007), where he co-starred with actors such as Sean Astin and Rachael Leigh Cook.

Beyond acting, Claywell expanded his career into production. He has served as an executive producer and head of production for various television series, including “This Is LA” (2018), “This Is SF” (2018-2019), “This Is Denver” (2018), “This Is SD” (2018), and “This Is Dallas” (2019).
