Peter Brett Cullen was born on August 26, 1956, in Houston, Texas, and pursued his education at the University of Houston, graduating in 1979. His early career saw him establish a presence in television, notably as Dan Fixx in “Falcon Crest” from 1986 to 1988, appearing in 53 episodes. He also took on the role of Sam Cain in the ABC Western series “The Young Riders” for its first season (1989-1990). Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Cullen contributed to numerous series and miniseries, including “The Chisholms” (1980), “The Thorn Birds” (1983), and various guest spots on shows like “M*A*S*H,” “Tales from the Crypt,” and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.”

Cullen’s work expanded into film, featuring in productions such as “Apollo 13” (1995) as a CAPCOM and “Something to Talk About” (1995) as Jamie Johnson. He continued to secure roles in films like “The Replacements” (2000), where he played Eddie Martel, and “Ghost Rider” (2007) as Barton Blaze. His television career maintained momentum with recurring roles in “The West Wing” (2005-2006) as Governor Ray Sullivan and “Lost” (2005-2008) as Goodwin Stanhope. From 2009 to 2012, he was a recurring character, Mark Keeler, in “Make It or Break It.”

The 2010s brought more notable film and television appearances. In 2012, he appeared as a Congressman in “The Dark Knight Rises” and Sergeant Tom Eckert in “Red Dawn.” He also had a role in “42” (2013) as Clay Hopper. A significant recurring role was Nathan Ingram in “Person of Interest” from 2011 to 2016. More recently, he was recognized for his portrayal of Thomas Wayne in “Joker” (2019) and has appeared in series such as “Narcos” (2016-2017) and “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” (2022–2023) as Bill Sharman. He has also taken on executive producer roles for films like “Daft State” (2024) and “It Snows All the Time” (2022).
