Brooke Hyland first came to the world’s attention as a gifted young contemporary dancer on Dance Moms, a reality television series that ran for several seasons and spawned a host of spin-offs. Along with her mom Kelly and sister Paige, Hyland appeared in four seasons of the show, which won the 2015 Kids’ Choice Award for Favourite Reality Show. Still in high school when the show first aired, Hyland has since moved away from dance, completing her education and becoming a social media influencer. Promoting herself as a “bitesize foodie”, she can boast over 5 million followers across major youth-orientated platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Born in Pennsylvania in1998, Hyland was just 12 years old when she became part of Dance Moms. Although the show focused on her mom Kelly and her often tempestuous relationship with dance teacher Abby Lee Miller, Hyland’s natural talent helped endear her to the show’s young fanbase, leading to appearances on other shows such as The View and Good Morning America. At the height of the show’s success, as well as connecting with fans who were inspired to take up dancing by her, she became a volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation and a spokesperson for an anti-bullying campaign.
After her family dramatically left Dance Moms in 2014, Hyland put dancing on the back-burner and studied for a degree in Marketing, Management & Business Analytics at Ohio University, a world away from reality television. She graduated in 2019 and has worked as an intern whilst remaining a highly active and successful influencer.
