About

Bryan Callen was born on January 26, 1967, on a military base in Manila, Philippines. Due to his father’s career as an international banker, Callen spent his early life in various countries such as India, Pakistan, Lebanon, Greece, and Saudi Arabia, living overseas until he was fourteen. He graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon High School in 1985 and subsequently earned a bachelor’s degree in History from American University in Washington, D.C. Callen began his entertainment career as one of the original cast members of the sketch comedy series “MADtv” in 1995, where he developed various characters and performed impressions. His television debut was on “MADtv,” which led to numerous guest appearances on popular shows including “Oz,” “Sex and the City,” “Frasier,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

His career further expanded into film, with notable roles in productions such as “Bad Santa” (2003), “Old School” (2003), and “The Hangover” (2009). Callen gained significant recognition for his recurring role as Coach Mellor in ABC’s “The Goldbergs” from 2014 to 2020, and he reprised this role as a main character in the spin-off series “Schooled” from 2019 to 2020. Beyond acting, he is a seasoned stand-up comedian, headlining across the U.S. and releasing several comedy specials, including “Man Class” (2012), “Never Grow Up” (2016), “Complicated Apes” (2019), and “Man Tears” (2022). He also co-hosts “The Fighter and the Kid” podcast with Brendan Schaub, which transitioned from mixed martial arts discussions to broader pop culture and current events after their departure from Fox Sports. Callen actively engages with his audience through his YouTube channel, featuring content like ‘Best Of, with Bryan Callen,’ where he explores various locations.
