Prolific actress Tricia Helfer has starred in some of the most iconic roles throughout her illustrious career. Best known for her Leo Award-winning role as the humanoid Cylon ‘Number Six’ in the critically acclaimed sci-fi series Battlestar Gallactica, Helfer has since gone on to star in a diverse range of film and television roles. From playing Charlotte in the gritty FOX fantasy drama Lucifer to voicing EDI in the Mass Effect videogame franchise, Helfer is regarded as one of the most versatile actresses to grace the industry. Born in Donalda, Canada, Helfer first gained notoriety as a model and became an international superstar after winning the Ford Model’ Supermodel of the World Contest in the early nineties. She featured in high profile campaigns for Georgia Armani, Versace, Givenchy, amongst others. After landing a guest spot in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Helfer’s transition into acting launched her meteoric career.
Throughout her illustrious career, Helfer has earned several accolades for her on-screen work. Hot off the heels of her phenomenal portrayal of “Number Six,” Helfer garnered high praise from critics for her role of Christina in the thriller film 37. The part won her a Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film Award from LA’s Playhouse West Film Festival. With other notable starring roles, such as Farrah Fawcett in NBC’s Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie’s Angels and Stephanie in the indie film Memory, Helfer shines in diverse and vulnerable roles. Some of her other credits include Walk Over Me, Con Man, TRON: Uprising, Burn Notice and Suits.
Alongside acting, Helfer is a humanitarian and advocate for several charities. She supports PETA, the Humane Society of United States, AmFAR and the Richmond Animal Protection Society. Adding to her resume, Helfer has done extensive voiceover work over the years, including the iconic Commander Veronica Dare in Halo, Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and Sonya Blade in Mortal Combat X. With a range of projects in the works, including her long-serving role as Dracula in SyFy’s Van Helsing, Helfer will be lighting up our screens for years to come.
