Burak Deniz

Burak Deniz was born on February 17, 1991, in Istanbul, Turkey, and grew up in İzmit. He pursued his education in art history at Çanakkale 18 Mart University. Even prior to university, Deniz engaged in acting workshops, where he was discovered by casting director Gökçe Doruk Erten, which marked the beginning of his professional acting career. His journey in television began in 2011 with the series “Kolej Günlüğü,” followed by roles in “Sultan” (2012) and “Kaçak” (2013-2015).

Deniz gained broader recognition through his work in adaptations of international series. He appeared in “Medcezir,” a Turkish adaptation of “The O.C.,” and later in “Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar” (2015), inspired by “Pretty Little Liars.” A significant turning point in his career came with the lead role of Murat Sarsılmaz in the romantic comedy series “Aşk Laftan Anlamaz” (2016-2017), which became widely popular internationally and earned him multiple awards. Following this success, he starred as Barış Aktan in “Bizim Hikaye” (2017-2019), an adaptation of the UK series “Shameless,” continuing to build his profile as a leading actor. He made his feature film debut in 2018 with “Arada,” a film depicting a punk singer’s journey through Istanbul.

In recent years, Deniz has expanded into web series and digital platforms. His roles include Kadir Bilmez in “Yarım Kalan Aşklar” (2020) and Celal “Maraşlı” Kün in the crime series “Maraşlı” (2021). Further diversifying his work, he starred as Asaf in the Disney+ series “The Ignorant Angels” (2022) and Maran in the Netflix series “Şahmaran” (2023). He reunited with Hande Erçel for the crime drama “Bambaşka Biri” (2023-2024), where he played Kenan Öztürk, a journalist with dissociative personality disorder. His consistent work across various platforms solidifies his position in the Turkish and international entertainment landscape.
