Cameron Hugh Davis was born on February 21, 1995, in Sydney, Australia. He demonstrated early talent in golf, attending Wakehurst Public School and Davidson High. His amateur career was marked by significant achievements, including winning the Australian Amateur in 2015 and being a runner-up in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship the same year. In 2016, Davis further distinguished himself by winning the individual title at the Eisenhower Trophy in Mexico, where he also contributed to Australia’s team victory by a margin of 19 strokes. These early successes underscored his potential in professional golf.
Davis turned professional in late 2016. His professional debut included a tie for 15th place at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba on the PGA Tour. After a brief period on the PGA Tour Canada, where he experienced a challenging season, he achieved a breakthrough win at the Emirates Australian Open in November 2017. This victory secured his qualification for the 2018 Open Championship. He continued his progression by winning the 2018 Nashville Golf Open on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour), which ultimately led to him securing his PGA Tour card.
Since joining the PGA Tour, Davis has consistently competed at the highest level. He achieved his first PGA Tour victory in July 2021 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, defeating Troy Merritt and Joaquín Niemann in a playoff. He subsequently won the Rocket Mortgage Classic for a second time in June 2024. His career achievements also include participating in the 2022 Presidents Cup as a member of the International team, playing all five matches. Davis’s professional career is characterized by steady progress and notable wins across different tours.
