Spanish actor Carlos Cuevas has been gracing Spanish screens since he was just five years old. He built a strong reputation with leading roles in popular Catalan series such as Merli and Ventdelpla before reaching wider audiences with leading roles in the likes of 45 revoluciones and appearances in popular series such as Alguien tiene que morir (Someone Has to Die). He is also an established stage actor with roles in major productions of the likes of Romeo & Juliet to his name. More recently, he has branched out even further, with a role in the major international historical drama Leonardo (about the life of Da Vinci) and Sin limites (Boundless), an Amazon Prime series marking the 500th anniversary of the first global circumnavigation.
Cuevas’ first introduction to the entertainment industry was appearing in television adverts as a child. His first major roles came slightly later, first with the drama series Ventdelpla and later with the role of troubled school heartthrob Pol Rubio in Merli, a role he reprised in 2019 for a spin-off series, Merli: Sapere Aude, which ran for three seasons. The latter show was such a success in Cuevas’ native Catalonia that it was dubbed for release across the rest of Spain, bringing Cuevas’ talents to a national audience.
In 2020, Cuevas added voice work to his resume, voicing Alsan in Memorias de Idhun (The Idhun Chronicles) an anime-inspired fantasy series made in Spain. With so many ambitious projects among his recent work, Cuevas is going to continue to push boundaries and grow his reputation.
