Having established himself in Chicago before relocating to Brooklyn, Carmen Christopher is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer with a growing reputation and a growing list of achievements. He was one of Comedy Central’s Comic to Watch picks for 2017, has toured the states as the opening act for Chris Gethard, a cult favourite comedian best known for hosting his eponymous anarchic talk show (to which Christopher was also a regular contributor).
Christopher served his comic apprenticeship at several of America’s leading theatre groups, including The Annoyance Theatre, Black Box, iO Theatre, and Second City. He has also been associated with the United Citizens Brigade, an improvisational comedy group with branches across the States. His television career has encompassed many of the best comedy channels and platforms in America today, with credits to date including appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers (NBC), At Home with Amy Sedaris (TruTV), High Maintenance (HBO), Alternatino (Comedy Central), and Bugging Out (MTV). Other recent acting roles have included Shrill (Hulu) and Joe Pera Talks with You (Adult Swim).
Besides his work on Chris Gethard Presents, Christopher’s writing credits include Little Banks on Wall Street, a mini-series about a Christmas tree salesman who reads Wolf of Wall Street and decides to change career accordingly, and I’m Killing It!!!, a 2019 short film about an immature man forced to grow up when his girlfriend dumps him that was nominated as a Staff Pick on major video platform Vimeo. He also co-created and appeared in Sunset Peak, a show broadcast on Comedy Central.
