Carmen Vincelj

Carmen Vincelj solidified her legendary status in the dance world by winning the WDC World Latin Dance Championships an unparalleled nine times consecutively, representing Germany from 1999 to 2007. Her historic partnership with Bryan Watson also secured seven British Open Professional Latin American Championship titles at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival between 2000 and 2007, a period of dominance that set a record at the time. Prior to this landmark success, Vincelj transitioned to professional dancing in 1996, forming a notable partnership with Allan Tornsberg from Denmark. Under the esteemed guidance of 14-time WDC World Professional Latin American Dance Champion, Donnie Burns MBE, Vincelj and Tornsberg achieved consistent finalist status in major professional championships from 1996 to 1999.

Her competitive foundation was established earlier, joining the Black-White Club Pforzheim in 1989 and partnering with Carsten Krause in 1991, where she developed her skills as a regular Amateur finalist alongside Sandro Cavellini. Following her illustrious competitive career, Carmen Vincelj has dedicated her expertise to dance education and adjudication, becoming recognized internationally as one of the foremost Latin American dance teachers. She actively mentors aspiring dancers across Germany and throughout Europe, shaping the next generation of talent. Her ongoing contributions to the global dance community include significant judging roles, such as her participation as an adjudicator at the 2022 USA DanceSport National Championships.

Vincelj continues to serve as an acclaimed dance instructor and adjudicator, consistently sharing her profound knowledge alongside fellow World Latin American Champion Hans Galke and former partner Bryan Watson.
