Popular Colombian voice actor Carolina Ravassa is accomplished as a screen actor and video game voice actor. Among her most famous roles are the voice of Sombra in the multi-award-winning game Overwatch, Taliana Martinez in Grand Theft Auto V, and Raze in Valorant. She has also appeared in Showtime drama The Affair and dance film Step Up 3D. Her video game work has seen her nominated for the BVTA Video Game Voice Acting Award for Best Supporting Female and also become a joint-winner of two Ensemble Awards for the same game.
Ravassa was born in the city of Santiago de Cali, Colombia, but she had an international upbringing, and as a result is fluent in four languages (English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese). Acting was her passion from a young age, and she made her stage debut as Gretel in an amateur production of The Sound of Music. After some time studying and acting in Spain and Italy, she finished her formal training at Boston College and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. She also spent time with the influential Theatre of the Oppressed in Brazil, which awakened her political conscience.
Ravassa made her indie short film debut in 2009, and the following year she won a supporting role in Step Up 3D. In 2012, she made her video game debut in Max Payne 3, a third-person shooter game that sold 3 million copies in its week of release. Since then, although she had remained a prolific live-action actor, she has focused largely on video games voice roles with increasing success.
