About

Cassidy Hubbarth was born on September 19, 1984, in Evanston, Illinois, to Emmeline and Gerry Hubbarth. She is of Filipino, German, and Irish descent. Hubbarth attended Evanston Township High School, graduating in 2003, where she was a four-year three-sport athlete and part of the 2002 ETHS State Championship high school soccer team. She later studied at the University of Illinois for one year before earning her Bachelor of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. After her graduation, Hubbarth worked for Navteq as a traffic reporter and producer for WMAQ NBC5 Network in Chicago. She also held positions at Intersport as a production assistant, associate producer, and host.

Her career in sports broadcasting began with roles as a host and reporter for the Big Ten Network and Fox Sports South. While at Fox Sports South, she earned a Southeast Emmy for Interactivity for her contributions to ‘SEC Gridiron Live’. Hubbarth joined ESPN in August 2010, initially serving as a studio anchor and host for college football, college basketball, and NBA coverage on ESPN3. During her time on ESPN3, she also hosted exclusive broadcasts such as the Georgia Pro Day, the Baylor Pro Day, and the Madden Bowl. Her role expanded in March 2013 when she became a full-time anchor for ESPN, hosting various shows including ‘SportsCenter’, ‘NBA Tonight’, the ‘NBA Today’ podcast, ‘Highlight Express’, ‘Numbers Never Lie’, ‘SportsNation’, and ‘First Take’.

In April 2025, after 15 years with ESPN, Hubbarth transitioned to Amazon Prime Video. She is set to become Amazon’s No. 1 NBA sideline reporter, working with Ian Eagle on the platform’s lead NBA crew. This move aligns with Amazon’s new multi-year deal to air NBA games, which includes coverage of six Conference Finals over 11 years. Her departure from ESPN was marked by an on-air tribute from her colleagues during her final telecast.
