Cassie Yeung was born on April 13, 1994, in South Brunswick, New Jersey, and is of Chinese Singaporean descent. She attended South Brunswick High School, where she participated in gymnastics, and later graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in communications. During her time at Rutgers, she was also a member of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights dance team. Following her graduation, Yeung pursued a career as a professional dancer, becoming a Brooklynette, the official NBA cheerleading team for the Brooklyn Nets. She danced for the Brooklyn Nets for two seasons, from 2016 to 2018.
After her dancing career, Yeung pivoted to become a social media content creator, focusing on cooking videos, particularly featuring Asian cuisine. Her authentic voice and approachable recipes quickly gained traction on TikTok, leading to a significant following of over three million. This period marked a crucial turning point, as she dedicated herself full-time to content creation. Her culinary skills were further showcased when she competed on Season 2 of Gordon Ramsay’s reality cooking show, Next Level Chef, where she placed fourteenth. Her online presence continued to grow, attracting millions of followers and establishing her as a prominent TikTok influencer.
In 2024, Cassie Yeung was recognized in People magazine’s “Creators of the Year.” Building on her digital success and culinary expertise, she authored a cookbook titled “Bad B*tch in the Kitch,” published in October 2025. The book, subtitled “Craveable Asian Recipes to Ditch the Takeout,” features Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Singaporean recipes. This publication became a New York Times Bestseller, solidifying her status as a chef and author. She frequently participates in food festivals, industry panels, and culinary workshops, sharing her insights on cooking and digital entrepreneurship. She currently resides in Philadelphia.
