Since those early days she has gone on to become internationally recognised as a skilled actress capable of huge variety, with credits as wide ranging as The Hobbit, Notes on a Scandal, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and How to Train Your Dragon. Her career has spanned nearly 30 years and during that time her talent has been recognised with a number of awards, including an Academy Award for The Aviator, and another for Blue Jasmine. Blanchett has also earned four Oscar nominations, and served as the artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company. She produced shows such as The Maids and A Streetcar Named Desire and has also performed on Broadway.
This impressive actress continues to land major roles, most recently playing the lead in Netflix’s political drama Mrs America. The show was praised both by critics and audiences alike, with some saying it was the performance of Blanchett’s career. With a sparkling history already behind her, she looks set for many more exciting projects to come.
