Charlie Plummer

Charlie Faulkner Plummer, born on May 24, 1999, in Poughkeepsie, New York, began his acting career at a young age, appearing in short films such as ‘Frank’ (2010) and ‘Three Things’ (2011). His early television work included a recurring role as Michael Thompson in HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire’ from 2011 to 2013, and a main role as Timmy Sanders in the BYUtv drama series ‘Granite Flats’ from 2013 to 2015. He made his feature film debut in David Chase’s ‘Not Fade Away’ in 2012. Plummer’s performance as Jack in ‘King Jack’ (2015) earned him significant attention after the film won the Audience Award at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

Plummer gained wider recognition in 2017 with two notable film roles. He played John Paul Getty III in Ridley Scott’s crime thriller ‘All the Money in the World’ and starred as the troubled teenager Charley Thompson in Andrew Haigh’s ‘Lean on Pete.’ His work in ‘Lean on Pete’ received critical acclaim, leading to him being awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Award for best emerging actor at the Venice International Film Festival. He continued to take on diverse roles, starring in the horror film ‘The Clovehitch Killer’ (2018) and the Hulu miniseries ‘Looking for Alaska’ (2019), where his performance as Miles ‘Pudge’ Halter was well-received. In 2020, he starred in the well-reviewed teen films ‘Spontaneous’ and ‘Words on Bathroom Walls,’ further establishing his presence in the industry.

Recently, Plummer has appeared in major productions, including the science fiction disaster film ‘Moonfall’ (2022) and portraying a young Franklin D. Roosevelt in the Showtime series ‘The First Lady’ (2022). His filmography also includes the coming-of-age drama ‘Wildflower’ (2022) and ‘National Anthem’ (2023), which premiered at the SXSW Festival and garnered positive critical reception for his performance as Dylan. He is also slated to appear in ‘The Long Walk’ in 2025.
