Charlotte Hope

Charlotte Hope was born on October 15, 1991, in Salisbury, England. She pursued higher education at Oxford University, studying French and Spanish, where her passion for acting led her to participate extensively in university theatre. An open casting call for a French film, Serge Gainsbourg: Vie Heroique, solidified her commitment to acting. After this experience, she actively sought representation, ultimately securing an agent and embarking on her professional career. Her early work included appearances in British television series such as “Holby City” (1999), “Casualty” (1986), and “Doctors” (2000), as well as supporting roles in films like “Les Misérables” (2012) and “The Invisible Woman” (2013). These initial roles laid the groundwork for her progression into more prominent parts within the industry.

Hope gained significant recognition in 2013 with her casting as Myranda in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” What began as a minor role evolved into a multi-season presence across three seasons, concluding in 2016. This period also saw her contribute to notable films such as “The Theory of Everything” (2014) as Philippa Hawking and “Allied” (2016). Her theatrical presence also expanded, working with notable figures like Ed Harris in productions of “Buried Child” and “Good for Otto.” In 2018, she further diversified her filmography with a role in the horror film “The Nun.” A pivotal career moment arrived in 2018 when she secured the lead role of Catherine of Aragon in the Starz series “The Spanish Princess” (2019–2020), a role that showcased her ability to lead a major historical drama. Her career continued to develop with diverse projects, including voice work for the video game “We Happy Few” (2018) as Sally Boyle.
