Recognized early for his exceptional talent in water polo and swimming, Chase Dodd quickly established himself as a formidable athlete. He earned first-team D1 All-CIF-SS honors in water polo in 2019, alongside First Team All-Sunset League selections in both 2019 and 2020. Dodd was further honored as Sunset League Co-MVP and Orange County Player of the Year in 2020, and named to the Daily Pilot Water Polo Dream Team in 2019. His prowess extended to swimming, where he was recognized as an All-American in 2018 and 2021, and an All-Sunset League MVP in 2021, holding school records in the 100-yard backstroke and as part of the 4×50 medley relay team that same year.
Development, Cadet, Academy, and Youth teams. His significant contributions to the senior national team began internationally with 13 goals at the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest. Further cementing his international standing, Dodd delivered a remarkable performance at the 2022 FINA Intercontinental Cup in Lima, tallying 17 goals and earning the prestigious MVP title of the gold medal match. Following a strategic year off in 2023 dedicated to rigorous training for the Olympic Games, Dodd made a strong return to UCLA for the 2024 season.
His focused preparation culminated in a standout showing at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, where he scored eight goals and secured a gold medal with the team. This was followed by his participation in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he was instrumental in the U.S. team’s bronze medal victory, contributing three crucial goals. Dodd’s consistent high-level performance across collegiate and international stages solidifies his position as a top-tier water polo athlete and Olympic medalist.
