Paige Hauschild

Paige Hauschild was born on August 17, 1999, in Santa Barbara, California. Her athletic career began in high school, attending San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, where she achieved significant recognition as a three-time 1st Team Division I All-CIF player. In 2016, she was named the Outstanding Field Player of the Irvine Tournament and helped her team reach the Division I CIF finals in 2016-2017. Her talent led to an early call-up to the National Team, making her debut at the 2015 FINA Intercontinental Tournament while still a high school student. This early exposure to international competition laid the groundwork for her future successes on the global stage.

Following her high school career, Hauschild became an instrumental player for the University of Southern California (USC) women’s water polo team. In 2018, as a true freshman, she set a USC record for the most goals by a true freshman with 67, leading the Trojans to an NCAA Championship. She was also named MPSF Newcomer of the Year and a 1st Team All-American, being a finalist for the Cutino Award. Her collegiate success continued in 2019, earning 1st Team All-American, 1st Team All-MPSF, and 1st Team All-NCAA Tournament honors, scoring 49 goals and again being a Cutino Award finalist. Hauschild’s career progression has included consistently high-level performance both domestically and internationally. She demonstrated her offensive capabilities for Team USA with her ability to execute outside shots and post-up in front of the cage. Her consistent strong play earned her a place on the 2020 Olympic team.

Her international career with Team USA has been marked by several medal-winning performances. She secured gold medals at the FINA World Championships in 2017 and 2019. In 2020, she played a key role in the US Olympic team’s victory at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, where she scored 6 goals, contributing to their gold medal. In 2021, she tallied 5 goals at the FINA World League Super Final in Athens, helping the team secure another 1st place finish. Her achievements reflect a sustained period of high performance and dedication to the sport at both collegiate and elite international levels.
