Born Salvador Guerrero IV is better known to wrestling fans worldwide as Chavo Guerrero Jr. Since his professional debut in 1994, he has appeared in WCW, WWF/WWE and TNA, winning the ECW World Champion belt and the Cruiserweight Championship an incredible six times. With his uncle Eddie Guerrero, he formed Los Guerreros, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship. In recent years, he has expanded his acting and stunt career, most notably acting as fight coordinator for Netflix comedy-drama series GLOW, a role that won him a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Guerrero was born in El Paso, Texas to a family of wrestlers — his father, Chavo Guerrero Sr. was also a professional — and grew up within the sport, often practising moves with his uncle Eddie. He turned professional in 1994 and joined WCW two years later. Within months of joining, he was fighting against all-time great Ric Flair for the US Championship belt. He didn’t win, but the match exposed his skills to a worldwide audience. In 2001, WCW was bought by WWF, which later rebranded as WWE, and Guerrero was one of the wrestlers that moved to the new franchise. Here, his partnership with Eddie came to the fore and Los Guerreros won the Tag-Team Championship in a Triple-Threat match at Survivor Series, a PPV held at a sold-out Madison Square Gardens.
In 2011, after ten successful years, Guerrero chose to leave WWE and move back to the independent circuit, including 18 months wrestling for TNA. He also spent several months running a wrestling promotion of his own, Nacion Lucha Libre.
