Chet Hanks

Chester Marlon Hanks, born on August 4, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, USA, is an American actor and musician. The son of actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, his early life included attendance at the Oakley School, a therapeutic boarding school, and studying theater at Northwestern University. Hanks began his acting career with a role as Dexter in the 2007 film “Bratz,” followed by several small film roles in the early 2010s.

Hanks gained recognition in television with recurring roles after achieving sobriety. From 2016 to 2018, he appeared as Charlie in the American adaptation of “Shameless.” He also portrayed rapper Blake on the hip-hop drama “Empire” from 2018 to 2019, appearing in 24 episodes. In 2020, Hanks had a cameo in the World War II film “Greyhound,” starring his father. Later that year, he took on the role of Joey Maldini in the Showtime courtroom miniseries “Your Honor,” appearing in 7 episodes over two seasons (2020-2023). Most recently, Hanks has taken on a starring role as Travis Bugg in the Netflix comedy series “Running Point,” set for release in 2025. This role is described as an exaggerated version of himself, showcasing his comedic talent alongside Kate Hudson.

In his music career, Hanks adopted the alias Chet Haze in 2011, releasing “White and Purple,” a remix of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow.” He later co-founded the musical duo FTRZ in 2016, releasing singles “Models” and “NowhereLand,” and the “Ocean Park EP.” The duo rebranded as Something Out West in 2020, releasing “Harley” and “Ticket Out My Head.” In 2021, under the name Chet Hanx, he released the viral “White Boy Summer” video and accompanying merchandise, followed by songs like “DAMN!” and “I FUX WITCHA” featuring Soulja Boy.
