Chet Hanks, also known by his rapper name Chet Haze, is the eldest son of the international star Tom Hanks, and following his father’s footsteps, has become a widely recognized celebrity in his own right, with roles in blockbusters like Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, the Fantastic Four, and a recurring main role in the hit TV Show Empire, not to mention his breakout career as a rapper, with his debut track-White and Purple- being released in 2011, a cover of Whiz Kalifa’s song with changed lyrics to honor his college. The self-confessed black sheep of his family, Hanks has overcome a long term drug addiction, but after getting sober in 2015, he has gone from strength to strength, and received recurring roles in the TV Show Shameless, and Empire, for which he recorded a hit record, How Ya Luv That and performed two other songs for the show’s soundtrack. Hanks became a father in 2016 and he credits his daughter Michaiah – with partner Tiffany Miles – for keeping him clean, with many photos of the pair together posted on his Instagram page between posts dedicated to his hugely supportive parents and siblings and promoting his band. He is also a fitness enthusiast, and regularly talks about his love of gym, and of his other passion, dirt bikes.
More recently, Hanks is still performing with his supporting duo under the name Somewhere Out West, and is consistently releasing new tracks, the latest of which- Harley- being released in January 2020.
