Chris Duhon

Chris Duhon has transitioned from a successful NBA point guard to a dedicated high school basketball coach, bringing professional experience and strategic knowledge to developing young athletes. After earning recognition as Mr. Basketball for Louisiana in 2000, Chris Duhon was selected for the McDonald’s All-American Team in the same year, and won the McDonald’s Three Point Shootout. Duhon concluded his distinguished collegiate career as Duke’s all-time leader in steals with 300 and minutes played with 4,813, additionally ranking second in assists with 819.

He achieved a career-high of 34 points, alongside 9 assists, 3 steals, and 4 three-pointers, against the Golden State Warriors in February 2008. Duhon then moved to the New York Knicks from 2008 to 2010, where he established a new single-game franchise record with 22 assists in November 2008. He continued his nine-year NBA career with the Orlando Magic (2010–2012) and the Los Angeles Lakers (2012–2013), concluding with 606 games played, averaging 6.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Following his impactful nine-year professional playing career, Duhon transitioned into coaching, bringing his extensive experience and strategic insights to player development.

He served as an assistant coach at Marshall University from 2014 to 2017, before moving to Illinois State as an assistant coach from 2018 to 2019. In 2021, Duhon advanced to the role of Director of Scouting and Video Analysis at Bryant University, further expanding his contributions to collegiate basketball programs. Most recently, Chris Duhon was appointed the head coach for the Gaston Christian School boys’ basketball team in 2023, where he continues to leverage his high-level professional background to mentor and develop young athletes.
