Chris Wylde

Chris Wylde, originally born Chris Noll on August 22, 1976, in Hackettstown, New Jersey, cultivated his performance skills from an early age. His formative years included singing as a treble in the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys at the Saint Thomas Choir School in New York City. During this period in the 1980s, he contributed vocals to Carly Simon’s track “Let the River Run,” featured in the film “Working Girl” (1988). He attended Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, New Jersey, and was selected for the NJ Governor’s School of the Arts for acting. Wylde pursued higher education at American University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Theater-Performance. His early career also involved appearing in the PBS series “Standard Deviants” while attending university.

After relocating to Hollywood in the summer of 1998, Wylde rapidly established his presence in the entertainment industry. He gained recognition in the 1990s by hosting his own late-night talk show, which originated on campus television at American University and later aired on Comedy Central. His feature film debut was in Clint Eastwood’s “Space Cowboys” (2000), where he appeared alongside actors like Tommy Lee Jones and Jon Hamm. Over the years, Wylde has participated in more than 60 films and television shows, alongside hundreds of commercials. Notable film appearances include “The DUFF” (2015), “The Revenant” (2009), “The Babysitter” (2017), and its sequel “The Babysitter: Killer Queen” (2020). He also had roles in “Joe Dirt” (2001) and “Coyote Ugly” (2000).

In television, Wylde has held recurring roles as Angwin in “Amphibia” (2020-2022), Glenn, the comic book store owner, in “Young Sheldon” (2018-2019), and Ribby in “The Cuphead Show!” (2022). He created, wrote, produced, and starred in the web series “Dadholes.” A significant turning point in his early career involved a highly publicized prank on “American Idol” in 2005, where he auditioned as a “Rapping Nanny” under his birth name, Christopher Scott Noll, an event VH1 recognized as one of the Top 40 Pranks in TV History. Beyond his acting work, Wylde also hosts ClipCast, the longest-running Los Angeles Clippers podcast, which he started in 2012, reflecting his personal interest in the team.
