Christian Finnegan

Fletcher Christian Finnegan was born on April 1, 1973, in Albany, New York. He spent his formative years in Acton, Massachusetts, and attended The Walnut Hill School, a boarding and day high school known for its arts programs in Natick, Massachusetts. Finnegan further pursued his education at NYU, where he focused on acting and playwriting. His professional stand-up comedy career began in New York in 1995, leading to regular performances in comedy clubs and colleges nationwide throughout his career.

Finnegan became a recognizable face on television, notably as one of the original panelists on VH1’s “Best Week Ever.” He also gained attention for his role as Chad, the sole white roommate in the “Mad Real World” sketch on Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show.” His acting credits include a co-starring role as Martin in the TBS series “Are We There Yet?” from 2010 to 2012, appearing in 64 episodes. He also portrayed a ticket agent in the 2010 film “Knight and Day” and had a guest role as Joey in a 2012 episode of “The Good Wife.”

Beyond acting and stand-up, Finnegan has contributed as a writer and producer. He wrote for “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn” from 2002 to 2004, a show on which he also appeared as a guest. His work as a writer extends to “Above Average Presents” from 2015 to 2018 and as a staff writer for “Black and White” in 2016, also serving as an executive producer for the latter. His stand-up specials include “Au Contraire!” (2009), released by Warner Bros. Records, and “The Fun Part” (2013), which debuted on Netflix in 2014. His latest special, “Christian Finnegan: Show Your Work,” was released in October 2021, and he previously released his debut stand-up comedy CD, “Two For Flinching,” with Comedy Central Records in 2006. In 2016, he co-hosted A&E’s “Black and White” with Sherrod Small.
