Christina Cox

Christina Cox was born just outside Toronto, the youngest of three girls. From an early age, she pursued theatre and dance at the prestigious Arts York at Unionville High School, demonstrating a strong commitment to performing arts. She further honed her craft at the Ryerson Theatre School of Toronto, an institution known for producing notable alumni. Prior to focusing on acting, Cox was deeply involved in athletics, including gymnastics, track and field, and taekwondo, with early aspirations of becoming an Olympic gymnast. Her diverse physical background later informed her career, particularly in stunt work, where she has showcased skills in boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and fencing.

Cox’s career in film and television spans over three decades, marked by numerous significant roles. She gained early recognition for her work in national theater productions, appearing in classical plays like William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” and contemporary works such as Jim Cartwright’s “Road.” A turning point in her television career came with her role as Angela ‘Angie’ Ramirez in ‘F/X: The Series’ from 1996 to 1998, which earned her a Gemini Award nomination. Her ability to blend dramatic acting with physical prowess made her a versatile talent.

Throughout her career, Cox has consistently secured leading and recurring roles in a variety of productions. She starred as Vicki Nelson in the Lifetime series ‘Blood Ties’ (2007-2008), an ex-cop turned private investigator specializing in supernatural cases. She also played astrobiologist Jen Crane in the FTVS/ABC series ‘Defying Gravity’ (2009) and had guest-starring roles in popular shows like ‘Dexter’ (2009), ’24’ (2010), ‘The Mentalist’ (2010), ‘NCIS’ (2011), ‘Shadowhunters’ (2016-2018), and ‘Reacher’ (2023-2024). Her film credits include ‘Better Than Chocolate’ (1999), ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ (2004), and ‘Elysium’ (2013), and she contributed stunt work to ‘Million Dollar Baby’ (2004).
