Christopher Titus

Christopher Titus was born on October 1, 1964, in Castro Valley, California. His early life was marked by familial challenges, with his parents divorcing when he was young. He spent time living with different family members, including his father, his mother, and his grandparents. These formative experiences, particularly the struggles within his family, later became central themes in his comedic work, shaping what he refers to as “therapeutic stand-up comedy.” At a young age, Titus developed an interest in customizing cars, a hobby that was also reflected in his television series.

Titus channeled his personal experiences into his professional career, culminating in the creation of the television series “Titus,” which aired on FOX from 2000 to 2002. The show was based on his life and dysfunctional family dynamics, offering a blend of dark humor and personal narrative over 54 episodes. Beyond his celebrated sitcom, Titus has established a significant presence in stand-up comedy, with numerous specials that delve into various aspects of his life and observations on society. These specials include “Norman Rockwell is Bleeding” (2000), which directly inspired his TV show, “5th Annual End of the World Tour” (2007), “Love is Evol” (2009), “Neverlution” (2011), “Voice in My Head” (2013), “The Angry Pursuit of Happiness” (2015), “Born with a Defect” (2016), “Amerigeddon” (2018), and “Zero Side Effects” (2023). He continues to tour with new material, demonstrating sustained engagement in his comedy career.

In addition to his acting and stand-up, Titus has extensive experience as a writer and producer. He has written for all of his stand-up specials and served as an executive producer for “Titus” and several other projects, including “Special Unit” (2017) and various comedy specials for other artists like Rachel Bradley and Ron Funches. In 2013, he formed his own production company, Combustion World Industries, further expanding his role behind the scenes. Since 2011, Titus has co-hosted “The Christopher Titus Podcast,” discussing current events, politics, and societal issues, which has built a substantial audience.
