Christopher Patte, born on March 29, 1990, in Guernsey, began his career in modern pentathlon, a multi-disciplinary sport comprising fencing, swimming, equestrian show jumping, and a combined event of pistol shooting and cross-country running. He quickly rose through the ranks, demonstrating skill and dedication in various international competitions. Patte represented France at the highest levels, including the XXX Olympic Games, where he finished 17th in the Men’s Individual event in London in 2012. His early career also saw him secure significant achievements at the Junior European Championships, winning gold in the Mixed Team Relay in Drzonkow, Poland in 2011, and a bronze in the Men’s Team Relay at the European Youth A Championships in Kalmar, Sweden, in 2008.
Throughout his senior career, Patte has achieved multiple podium finishes and strong placements in major competitions. He secured a gold medal in the team event at the 2013 World Modern Pentathlon Championships in Kaohsiung and again at the 2022 World Championships in Alexandria. He also earned silver medals in the team event at the 2014 World Championships in Warsaw and the 2016 World Championships in Moscow. On the European stage, Patte has been a prominent figure, clinching team gold at the 2015 European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Bath and the 2018 European Championships in Székesfehérvár. He also has multiple silver medals from European Championships in the team category, including in Drzonków (2013), Nizhny Novgorod (2021), Székesfehérvár (2022), and Kraków (2023). In 2023, he also earned a silver medal at the European Games in Kraków-Małopolska in the team event.
Patte has consistently competed in the UIPM World Cup series, securing notable individual results, including a gold medal at the UIPM World Cup I in Cairo, Egypt, in 2018, and a silver medal at the UIPM World Cup #3 in Rome, Italy, in 2016. He further demonstrated his individual prowess with a gold medal at the Champion of Champions in Doha, Qatar, in 2013. His career reflects sustained excellence and a commitment to modern pentathlon, contributing to France’s standing in the sport.
