About

Brooklyn Danielle Decker was born on April 12, 1987, in Kettering, Ohio. She is the oldest child of Tessa Renee (Moore), a nurse, and Stephen Michael Decker, a pacemaker salesman. Her ancestry includes German, English, and Irish roots. During her teenage years, Decker was discovered by a talent scout at a shopping mall in Charlotte, North Carolina, which led to the beginning of her modeling career. Her first professional engagement was for a prom dress manufacturer. In 2003, she won the Model of the Year award at the Connections Model and Talent Convention, marking an early milestone.

Decker achieved significant success in modeling, featuring in various magazines and campaigns. She first appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2006, followed by appearances in 2007 and 2008. Concurrently with her modeling work, Decker pursued acting, securing roles in television series such as ‘Chuck’ (2007), ‘Royal Pains’ (2009), and ‘Ugly Betty’ (2006). She subsequently moved into film, appearing in ‘Just Go with It’ (2011), ‘Battleship’ (2012), and ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ (2012). Her career continued to evolve with a regular role as Mallory Hanson in the Netflix series ‘Grace and Frankie’ from 2015 to 2022.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Decker has maintained an active role as a Global Ambassador for Special Olympics, inspired by her passion for sports and a personal connection through an aunt with an intellectual disability.
