Actor and television personality Gervase Peterson shot to fame on the first ever series of reality TV show Survivor. Since finishing as second runner-up on the show Peterson has enjoyed a glittering career in television, guest starring on the likes of Live With Regis, Rosie O’Donnell, Late Night with David Letterman and The Tonight Show. No stranger to Hollywood, he has demonstrated his comedic and acting talents on shows including MTV’s Say What Karaoke, Nash Bridges, The Hollywood Squares, VH1’s The List and The Hughleys, and gained even more recognition for portraying Leo Thompson in soap As The World Turns.
Peterson’s talents also reach into news corresponding and hosting, including The Early Show, MTV’s Music Video Awards, Survivor The Phenomenon, The Today Show, MTV’s Spring Break 2001 and KCBS. The multi-talented star has also written features for the likes of ESPN Magazine, TV Guide and Playboy.
The Philadelphia native had a tough start in life after losing his father as a young adult. This sad event spurred the young Peterson to make each day count, and in summer 1999 he submitted his video tape audition for new reality show Survivor. Over 53 million viewers watched Peterson and his fellow contestants try to survive on a deserted island, and Peterson quickly became a fan favourite. Survivor may be behind him, but it’s evident his career will continue long into the future.
