Cleo Pires

Cleo Pires Ayrosa Galvão, born on October 2, 1982, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, made her television debut at the age of eleven in the miniseries “Memorial de Maria Moura” (1994), portraying a young version of the protagonist whose adult counterpart was played by her mother, Gloria Pires. After a hiatus, she received an invitation from director Monique Gardenberg to star in the film “Benjamin” (2004), based on Chico Buarque’s book. Her performance earned her the Best Actress award at the Rio Film Festival, encouraging her to pursue acting further. Her career progressed with significant roles in television, including Lurdinha in “America” (2005) and Letícia in “Cobras e Lagartos” (2006), for which she received awards such as ‘Best New Actress’ from Contigo! Magazine and the ‘Best of the Year’ award from TV Globo, respectively. She also notably played Cleopatra in the children’s special “Clara e o Chuveiro do Tempo” (2005).

Her filmography expanded with roles in “Meu Nome Não é Johnny” (2008), where she played Sofia, and “Lula, o filho do Brasil” (2010), portraying Lula’s first wife, Lourdes. Pires continued to take on varied roles, including the native Brazilian Estela in the soap opera “Araguaia” (2010-2011) and urban Bianca in “Salve Jorge” (2012-2013). She also starred as Ana Terra in the film adaptation of Érico Veríssimo’s “O Tempo e o Vento.” In 2014, she returned to television in the series “O Cacador,” playing Katia, and later starred in the film “Boletim de Ocorrencia.” In addition to her acting career, Cleo Pires has ventured into music, releasing EPs such as “Jungle Kid” and “Melhor Que Eu,” and singles, establishing herself as a singer. She has also taken on producer roles in some of her film projects, demonstrating her involvement across multiple facets of film production.
