After being drafted by the New England Revolution in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, Clint Dempsey quickly made an impact, starting 23 games and scoring 7 goals in his rookie year. This exceptional debut earned him the prestigious MLS Rookie of the Year award, an MLS All-Star selection, and Man of the Year by the Midnight Riders, all in 2004. His burgeoning talent was further recognized when he was named Honda Player of the Year in 2006, solidifying his status as a formidable force in American soccer.

His exceptional performance upon his return to MLS also garnered him the MLS Comeback Player of the Year award in 2017. Clint Dempsey retired from professional soccer in August 2018, leaving an indelible mark on the sport.
