As a child, there was never any doubt that Corey Kent would embark on a very successful musical career, given that he began singing at the tender age of three, playing the guitar at the age of eight and undertook his very first stage performance at just 11 years old. Born and raised in Bixby, Oklahoma, Corey is both a musician and songwriter, taking the industry by storm slowly but surely with his unique sound of classic country meets contemporary pop. His first musical inspiration and favorite artist are Garth Brooks.
Following his first stage performance, at the Oklahoma State Fair, Corey was approached to join the Oklahoma Stomp, Western Swing band, as their lead vocalist. In 2010 Corey had the experience of a lifetime when he joined country legend Willie Nelson on stage for a rendition of Milk Cow Blues. At the age of 16 he graduated from high school and decided to make the big move to Nashville to pursue his dreams of being a star.
Immediately after completing his business degree at Oklahoma State University, Corey wrote his first #1 hit, Hit You Where It Hurts, for William Clark Green. During his time at Oklahoma State he put together a band that played at local bars and clubs, making a name for themselves. In 2014 Corey released his first independent three-song EP, entitled Making Noise. 2015 was a big year for the country music star when he was chosen to compete in season 8 of The Voice.
