Corey Lemonier

Corey Lemonier was born on November 19, 1991, in Hialeah, Florida. His parents, Henry and Francoise Lemonier, are Haitian immigrants. He attended Hialeah High School, where he excelled in football, recording 50 tackles and 10 sacks as a junior. He was considered a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and ranked as the 3rd best weakside defensive end in the nation. Lemonier accepted a scholarship to Auburn University, where he played for the Auburn Tigers football team from 2010 to 2012. During his freshman year in 2010, he started one of 14 games, contributing 17 tackles and two quarterback sacks, and was part of the team’s victory in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.

In 2011, as a sophomore, Lemonier was named first-team All-SEC after accumulating 47 tackles and 9.5 sacks. He continued his strong college performance in 2012 with 34 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 12 games during his junior season. Following his junior year, he decided to forgo his senior season and entered the 2013 NFL Draft. His professional career began when the San Francisco 49ers selected him in the third round as the 88th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he recorded his first sack and safety against the Arizona Cardinals.

After his time with the 49ers, Lemonier continued his NFL career with several teams. He was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns in 2016. Later that year, he was waived by the Browns and subsequently claimed by the Detroit Lions. His time with the Lions was brief, and he was released. Shortly after, he was claimed off waivers by the New York Jets in December 2016. In his first game with the Jets, he recorded a sack and a forced fumble against the Buffalo Bills. He re-signed with the Jets in March 2017 before being released in September of the same year.
