Born on February 10, 1979, in Lyons, Georgia, Craig Campbell grew up in a blended family, developing an early connection to music. He began playing piano at his mother’s church at the age of 10 and continued until he was 18. During his teenage years, he formed a band called Out of the Blue. Campbell also demonstrated his musical talent by winning contests sponsored by True Value Hardware at both 15 and 18 years old. These early experiences laid the foundation for his professional music career.
In 2002, Campbell moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he secured several musician jobs. Initially focused on performing, he was encouraged by fellow artist Luke Bryan to begin writing songs. Campbell also gained experience by touring as part of Tracy Byrd’s road band. His career progressed significantly when he signed with Bigger Picture Music Group. He released his debut single, “Family Man,” on July 26, 2010. This success was followed by his self-titled debut album on April 5, 2011. “Family Man” reached number 14 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in April 2011. Subsequent singles, “Fish” and “When I Get It,” also charted, with “Fish” achieving Gold certification from the RIAA.
Campbell’s second studio album, “Never Regret,” was released on May 7, 2013, featuring the single “Outta My Head.” The album also included “Keep Them Kisses Comin’,” which became his most successful single, reaching number 9 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and receiving Gold certification. After the closure of Bigger Picture Music Group in May 2014, Campbell signed with Red Bow Records on December 1, 2014. Under this label, he released singles such as “Tomorrow Tonight” (2015) and “Outskirts of Heaven” (2016), which peaked at number 24 on the Country Airplay chart. His seven-song EP, “See You Try,” was released on June 8, 2018, featuring the title track. Campbell later launched Marathon Talent with Peter Strickland in June 2022, combining talent agencies. Alongside his wife, Mindy, he also co-owns and operates two coffee shops called Grindstone Cowboy in Tennessee, further expanding his entrepreneurial ventures.
